Discipleship

Follow Christ • Grow in Faith • Live with Purpose

Discipleship

Discipleship is learning to follow Jesus Christ in everyday life. At Freedom Centre International Church, grow through biblical teaching, spiritual formation, supportive relationships and practical service.

Growing in the Life of Christ

Christian growth begins with God’s grace and continues as we respond to His Word. Discipleship helps us understand the gospel, develop Christlike character and express our faith through love, obedience and wise choices.

Scripture and Truth

Learn what the Bible teaches, understand the foundations of the faith and apply God’s Word to daily life.

Prayer and Character

Build habits of prayer and reflection while growing in humility, integrity, forgiveness and love.

Community and Encouragement

Grow alongside others through fellowship, mentorship and respectful accountability.

Service and Witness

Use your gifts to serve others and share the hope of Christ through your words and conduct.

Your Discipleship Pathway

These five stages offer a guide for steady growth. Foundations and formation are developed through Formation Class, followed by opportunities for community, service and leadership development.

Growth continues across all these areas. Speak with a church leader about a starting point suited to your needs; a leadership role is not required to live as a faithful disciple.

Common Questions

What is discipleship in simple terms?

Discipleship is learning to follow Jesus Christ: understanding His teaching, growing in His character and applying your faith in everyday life.

Can I begin if I am new to the faith?

Yes. You can begin by learning the foundations and asking questions. Enquire about Formation Class and the support available at your branch.

How do I choose my next step?

Consider what would help you grow now: biblical understanding, consistent habits, supportive relationships or practical service. A church leader can help you explore the available opportunities.

Is discipleship only for church leaders?

No. Every believer can grow in faith, character and service. Leadership development supports those preparing for further responsibility, while discipleship remains a lifelong journey for all Christians.

What if I feel spiritually stuck?

Begin with manageable steps: read a passage of Scripture, pray honestly and connect with someone who can encourage you. Seek prayer and pastoral support if you need help working through a difficult season.

How do services and sermons support discipleship?

Services and sermons provide biblical teaching and opportunities for worship. Reflect on what you hear, discuss your questions and choose a practical way to apply the teaching during the week.
